Mailbox Monday is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came into their house last week.
Warning: Mailbox Monday can lead to envy, toppling TBR piles, and humongous wish lists!!
Mailbox Monday, created by Marcia @ A Girl and Her Books, has a permanent home now at Mailbox Monday.

THANKS to everyone for keeping Mailbox Monday alive.
I'm doing good sticking to my no request policy. Until I get a bit of my TBR list under control I have too. I'm staying away from anything NetGalley until I get my list down a bit. I am however getting books via Snail Mail. I look forward to reading them very much.
I did some work on my book area this weekend so am sharing those here since I only have one book picture to post. Still book related right!
Bookmail.
I received this from the author. I'll be reading it very soon.
“This woman was one of the most impudent, scurrilous, wicked creatures of this world; and she did now throughout her whole trial discover herself to be such a one. Yet when she was asked what she had to say for herself, her chief plea was that she had led a most virtuous and holy life.” —Reverend Cotton Mather, 1692
USA Today Bestselling author Heather B. Moore brings the life of her 10th great-grandmother to center stage. Susannah North Martin, accused of witchcraft in 1692, joins five women in the Salem Jail, all sentenced to death for their crimes. Amidst tragedy, Susannah finds hope and compassion as she remembers a well-loved life, and readers discover that love reaches far beyond the grave as Susannah faces the magistrates in Salem.

Work we did on book area
I got these shelves as part of the Amazon Vine program. I get things in exchange for my honest review. I could not turn these down. They turned out just as nice as I thought they would. I will be taking a couple of the books off the overcrowded shelf though. I think it would look much nicer with just a few books.
I added another plant stand to the top of my bookcase to put more hardback books on. I like how it gives the books a little height and they just look nice. I wanted to have a bit more room and it worked.
I adore books. Books are my escape from anything bad in life. Not that I have a bad life because I don't. But still with things going on in the world it's a nice escape. Right?
I don't do a lot of physical traveling so do it through books. I think this is a good way to see other countries if you don't fly.
CALL THE CANARIES HOME by Laura Barrow
Three estranged sisters reconnect in their Louisiana hometown to face an unresolved past in a heartfelt novel about family, grief, secrets, and forgiveness.
Savannah was four years old when her twin sister, Georgia, went missing from their small Louisiana town, fracturing their family. Twenty-eight years later, Savannah convinces her estranged older sisters, Rayanne and Sue Ellen, to honor the pact they made as children and retrieve the time capsule they buried in their old backyard. But coming home means confronting old ghosts…and their stubborn grandmother, Meemaw.
Sifting through the artifacts, they come across a photograph taken on the day Georgia disappeared and spot a familiar woman lingering in the background. While Sue Ellen and Rayanne want to move on with their lives, Savannah is determined to find the woman—and perhaps a clue to the past.
When old tensions, rivalries, and memories resurface, the sisters must reconsider what they thought they knew about that fateful day, about each other, and about themselves. On their search to uncover what happened to Georgia, each of them will discover what Meemaw has known all along: family is everything.
